KANSAS CITY, Kan. — TRIPLE H BBQ won American Royal World Series of Barbecue-INVITATIONAL CONTEST, best of 185 invited teams; SIN CIRCLE BBQ took reserve. An invite-only field, so it leaves the power rating alone and goes straight into the record book.

Across September 2021, 48 sanctioned contests were scored, across 24 states and provinces, drawing 1,326 teams to the turn-in table. Judges made 1,861 top-ten calls and handed out 56 perfect 180s. 297 teams appear in the record for the first time. The full standings run on B1.
