LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — HEAVY SMOKE STL won KCBS World Invitational Barbeque Championship, best of 92 invited teams; SHAKE 'N BAKE BBQ took reserve. An invite-only field, so it leaves the power rating alone and goes straight into the record book.
Across February 2019, 9 sanctioned contests were scored, across 6 states and provinces, drawing 423 teams to the turn-in table. Judges made 400 top-ten calls and handed out 13 perfect 180s. 137 teams appear in the record for the first time. The full standings run on B1.
