KANSAS CITY, Mo. — SMOKIN HOGGZ BBQ - MA won the 2014 American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, Mo., with 701.7028 out of 720, 1.1312 points clear of DIRT ROAD BBQ, the reserve grand champion. 165 teams were invited.

It was their 1st American Royal. The win was their 5th Grand Championship of 2014. On the way they finished 46th in chicken, 47th in pork ribs, 3rd in pork and 3rd in brisket.

The meats went to LOOT N' BOOTY BBQ in chicken (180), Bar-B-Que Commanders in pork ribs (178.8572), MEADOW VALLEY BBQ CO. in pork (180) and ROCK'S MONEY PIT BBQ in brisket (180).

The field included one past champion and 108 teams at their first American Royal. Judges handed out seven perfect 180s. The full standings run on B1.
