More information, cause recipe back stories are stupid

No 500-word life story — just the good-to-know stuff on what’s actually in this cook. Here’s the rundown on every real ingredient, health and nutrition wise.

Bacon
Bacon brings protein and big flavour but is cured and high in sodium and saturated fat, so it's best used as an accent rather than the main event. A little goes a long way.
Cheese
Cheese is a good source of protein and calcium and pairs naturally with smoke, but it's also high in saturated fat and sodium β€” a little delivers big flavour, so treat it as a rich accent.
Apple
Apples add natural sweetness, fibre, and vitamin C. In a brine or alongside pork they balance salt and smoke; on their own they're a low-calorie, gut-friendly fruit.
Sugar
Sugar balances salt and heat and helps build bark and glaze, but it's a source of empty calories β€” rubs and sauces use it for flavour and browning, so a little goes a long way.
Broccoli
Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable loaded with fibre, vitamin C, vitamin K, and beneficial compounds like sulforaphane β€” a nutrient-dense way to round out a rich BBQ plate.
