About Saucy Rossy BBQ

Honest, wood-smoked barbecue out of Nova Scotia — and a full cookbook to go with it.

Saucy Rossy BBQ is a Nova Scotia barbecue channel and recipe site built on one idea: honest, wood-smoked barbecue over real fire, with nothing hidden and no shortcuts. What started as filming backyard cooks has grown into a library of well over a hundred recipes, a set of free pitmaster tools, and a competition team that has taken home hardware — including the Covered Bridge Smoke Showdown Championship.

Everything here is cooked and written by Ross, the pitmaster behind the channel. The videos have crossed 10 million views, but the goal has never changed: show exactly how a cook goes from raw to rested so you can pull it off at home.

What you'll find on this site

This isn't a link page — the site is the cookbook. Every cook from the channel is written out here as a full recipe you can read, search and print, alongside a growing set of tools that take the guesswork out of a cook.

How it's cooked

All of it runs over real wood and live fire — on a 250-gallon custom-built R&R offset smoker, a Traeger Woodridge Pro pellet grill, a Napoleon Phantom Prestige 500 RSIB with a stainless griddle insert, a Napoleon charcoal grill, a Black Earth Grills Roam v2 live-fire camp grill, and whatever else the cook calls for. The rubs and sauces lean on Maritime makers like Maritime Madness out of PEI, and the wood is mostly local sugar maple, apple and cherry.

Work with Ross

Beyond the channel, Ross takes on event appearances and one-on-one coaching — festivals, demos, collabs and comp-day prep. To get in touch, head to the contact page or email saucyrossybbq@gmail.com.
